Scoliosis is a deformity with a cause which is still unknown. Today, it is a subject of interdisciplinary research. Lots of people find its root in asymmetric sports since we mostly use our dominant side during that kind of physical activity. It can easily be detected when looking at shoulder height, Lorenz’ angle, height difference between left and right ASIS and PSIS. After we identify scoliosis, there are simple tests we can use to determine its type and the angle of spine curvature. Our client is a 12-year-old female. The client has functional scoliosis of thoracic spine. Her deformity does not interfere with her daily activities. She practices swimming and does not report any pain during her practice. In the first phase of the treatment, we focused on giving advice on right posture alongside improving mobility and flexibility of thoracic spine and shoulders. In the second phase, we focused on correct abdominal breathing and improving its level. In addition to that, our goal was to stabilise the torso. In the third phase, we strengthened the upper back and shoulders. In the fourth phase, we performed complex exercises we had prepared the client for during earlier phases. Our main goal was to decrease the angle and progression of scoliosis.
