Recreation as a form of free time contributes to physical, mental and social well-being, and as such has become a key component of a healthy lifestyle in modern society. Among the various forms of recreation, group fitness programs occupy a special place due to their ability to stimulate motivation, create a sense of community and enable individual adaptation to different levels of physical fitness. This paper will present the role of group fitness programs in the promotion of health and recreational activities, with a focus on their physiological, psychological and social benefits. A review of the literature on the effects of group training on physical fitness, including cardiorespiratory endurance, strength, flexibility and general health, will be included. Special attention will be paid to psychological benefits, such as reducing stress, improving mood and increasing motivation through social interaction. The influence of the instructor and his actions on the participants of group trainings will also be analyzed. Different types of group programs such as aerobics, yoga and pilates will be compared. In the conclusion of the paper, the importance of regular physical activity in the prevention of chronic diseases and improving the quality of life will be emphasized.
