The primary objective of this research is to determine the factors of success in men's amateur boxing based on coaches' opinions. The sample of respondents consisted of 35 active boxing coaches from the Republic of Croatia. All respondents were male. The average training tenure was 12.1±6.8 years, while the average coaching tenure was 9.3±8 years. The variable sample included eight questions that were part of a questionnaire constructed to determine the factors of success in boxing based on coaches' opinions. The first two questions evaluated training and coaching tenure. Furthermore, the third, fourth, and fifth questions assess the importance of anthropological characteristics for success in boxing by weight groups: motor skills, body constitution, personality traits (motivation, emotional stability, mental resilience), and intelligence. The research was conducted electronically, namely by creating a questionnaire on the Microsoft Forms platform. According to the coaches, anthropological characteristics and motor skills are not equally important within different weight categories. In low and middle weight categories, motor skills stand out as critically important, while in higher weight categories, personality traits, such as motivation and mental toughness, are considered imperative. Psychological characteristics become increasingly important as boxers progress through weight classes.
