Abstract Prema Hipokratovoj filozofiji, prehrana je ključ očuvanja i unaprjeđenja čovjekovog zdravlja.
Abstract (english) According to Hippocrates, good nutrition is the key to preserving and improving human health. Traditional Chinese medicine, though thousands of years old, conforms to the latest principles set out by the World Health Organization (WHO), according to which the major factors which are responsible for the deterioration of health of modern humans are the following ones: poor nutrition and unhealthy eating habits, insufficient physical activity and stress. The idea of food as medicine has been recognized and documented since ancient times. Unfortunately, in today's hectic and stressful life industrially processed foods are becoming a concerning trend. We only think of food as fuel and eat to satisfy physical hunger. Fast food, which has low nutritional value and is high with artificial sweeteners, can only temporary suppress appetite and tends to create long-term adverse effects. Fast foods can drain our energy levels and tend to contribute to the natural load of toxins produced by the body. Consuming this type of food for a long time can result in serious illness. Exercising and eating healthy, with a little discipline and by building a routine, is the best way to achieve life vitality and preserve our own health, which should come first to all of us. The scientific evidence for a beneficial relationship between functional ability and health has contributed to mass involvement in sports and recreational forms of physical activity. To gain insight into the efficiency of transformation, we have explored the role of appetite regulation. We developed a four-week workout plan to evaluate how different exercises affect appetite. It should be emphasized that doing any physical activity is better than living a sedentary lifestyle and not doing anything. We can conclude that in the long run low-intensity, long-duration exercise, most commonly used in reducing adiposity, often proves inferior to high-intensity, short-duration workout. To prove this theory, we have identified different training protocols to determine how does it affect appetite. By
analysing the four-week workout, it can be concluded that the combination of moderateintensity aerobic physical activity and high-intensity workout with weights is the best way to deal with hunger and appetite. Workout routines with weights are much more intense than aerobic exercises that increase appetite. Conclusion results from the qualitative research revealed that the benefits of implementing strength training programs far outweigh the appetite-inhibiting effects and confirmed the importance of the need to explore the role of appetite regulation using different exercise modalities.
