Abstract
Ozljeda kralježnične moždine je kompleksna ozljeda s nizom posljedica koje je teško liječiti, a rehabilitacija osoba s ozljedom kralježnične moždine zahtjevna je. Posljedice ozljede za bolesnika, obitelj te užu i širu zajednicu mogu imati katastrofalan ishod s medicinske, ali i s društvene, emocionalne, psihološke i ekonomske strane, no specijaliziranim rehabilitacijskim pristupom multidisciplinarnog tima te praćenjem bolesnika u zajednici posljedice mogu biti ublažene. Cilj specijaliziranog rehabilitacijskog programa kod bolesnika s ozljedom kralježnične moždine predstavlja istovremeno liječenje prijeloma kralježnice i multisistemskih disfunkcija. Nadalje, treba paziti i na nemedicinske utjecaje bolesnik-partnerobitelj-zajednica te ih tijekom rehabilitacije uzeti u obzir. Iako su u početku u centru pozornosti liječenja i rehabilitacije oštećenja tjelesnih funkcija i struktura, kasnije sve veću pozornost zauzimaju ograničenja u aktivnostima dnevnog života i participaciji u zajednici i društvu. Rehabilitacijski program obično traje od 3 do 6 mjeseci, ovisno o razini i potpunosti oštećenja kralježnične moždine, kao i o prisutnom komorbiditetu i komplikacijama.
Abstract (english)
Spinal cord injury is a complex injury, difficult to treat with devastating medical, social, emotional, psychological and economic consequences affecting not only the patient, but also his/her partner, family and community in general. These effects can however be alleviated by a multidisciplinary and dedicated approach of an experienced team and community care. The focus of the special rehabilitation program is the simultaneous treatment of fractured spine and multisystem dysfunction, and the simultaneous attention to the non-medical effects on the patient/partner/family/community members. Although initially the impairment of body function and structures are in focus, the main concern then becomes centered on activity limitations, community participation and quality of life. Rehabilitation process may last from 3-6 months, depending of the level and completeness of injury, as well as co-morbidity and complications.
