Abstract
Glavni cilj ovog rada bio je utvrditi postojanje efekta relativne dobi (ERD) kod vrhunskih judaša seniorskog uzrasta. Ukupan uzorak ispitanika činilo je 168 vrhunskih judaša natjecatelja svih težinskih kategorija u seniorskom uzrastu. Za utvrĎivanje ERDa kod seniorskih natjecatelja, primijenjena je neparametrijska Hi-kvadrat statistička analiza. Rezultati ukazuju Na postojanje asimetriju u frekvencijama godina roĎenja. Najviše natjecatelja roĎeno je u mjesecu siječnju (n=25), dok je najmanje njih roĎeno u lipnju (n=4). Hi-kvadrat statističkom analizom utvrĎene su statistički značajne razlike izmeĎu opaženih i očekivanih frekvencija u godinama roĎenja (χ2=34.86). TakoĎer, ako se distribucija roĎenih pogleda kvartalno, može se zaključiti kako dolazi do sličnog trenda. Relativni dobni učinak odnosi se na ukupnu razliku u dobi izmeĎu pojedinaca unutar svake dobne skupine, što može rezultirati značajnim razlikama u izvedbi. U budućim istraživanjima bi trebalo u analizu uključiti veći broj vrhunskih judaša muškog i ženskog spola po svakoj težinskoj kategoriji te pokušati vidjeti da li će postojati isti trend kao u ovom radu.
Abstract (english)
The main aim of this paper was to establish the existence of relative age effect (RAE) in top judo athletes of senior age. The total sample of respondents consisted of 168 top judo athletes of all weight categories in senior age. For the determination of RAE in seniors' athletes, the nonparametric Hi-quadratic statistical analysis was applied. The results indicate the existence of asymmetry in the frequency of birth years. Most athletes were born in January (n = 25), while the least of them were born in June (n = 4). Hi-square determined a statistically significant difference between the observed and expected frequencies in birth years (χ2 = 34.86). Also, if we look distribution of birth year by quarterly, one can conclude that a similar trend is present. The relative aging effect refers to the total age difference between individuals within each age group, which can result in significant differences in performance. Future research should include a large number of top male and female judo judges of every weight category and try to see if there will be the same trend as in this paper.
