Abstract
Rukomet postaje sve popularniji sport. Rezultat toga je prirodna evolucija rukometne igre prema intenzivnijom razvoju na najvišoj profesionalnoj razini. Prilikom igranja rukometa dolazi do intenzivnog kontakta tijelom, zahtjevnim međusobnim sučeljavanjima i brzim promjenama smjera u kombinaciji sa zahtjevnim tehnikama i elementima koordinacije poput hvatanja, bacanja, prolaska i driblinga. Veći intenzitet i česte utakmice koje se igraju u više natjecanja ostavljaju manje vremena za oporavak igračicama što utječe na visoki rizik od ozljeda. Pronalaženje i provedba strategije za sprječavanje i smanjivanje stope ozljeda, kao i dobar kontinuiran medicinske pokrivenosti rukometnih momčadi je presudna.
Abstract (english)
Handball is becoming an increasingly popular sport. The result is a natural evolution of the handball game towards more intensive development at the highest professional level. When playing handball, there is intense body contact, demanding mutual confrontations and rapid changes of direction in combination with demanding techniques and elements of coordination such as catching, throwing, passing and dribbling. Higher intensity and frequent matches played in multiple competitions leave less time for players to recover which results in a high risk of injury. Finding and implementing a strategy to prevent and reduce injury rates as well as good continuous medical coverage of handball teams is crucial.
